"Charleston is quite a pretty place," observed a Gallipolis Dispatch journalist in 1861. "It is located on the beautiful bottom on the northeast bank of the river and is entirely surrounded by lofty hills."

The City of Charleston

The above description is as true today as it was in 1861. Hip, Historic, Almost Heaven. Charleston is steeped in historic architecture, an eclectic music scene, bountiful shopping, unique dining and four seasons of changing mountain landscape.

Charleston also is the perfect hub from which to “spoke out” to other West Virginia activities. The capital city serves as the gateway to all that is wild and wonderful in the Mountain State, including snow skiing, world-class zip-line canopy tours, whitewater rafting, ATV trails, golfing, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, and kayaking – all within an hour’s drive or less.

The DC Elevator Office

Located in the industrial part of town, just past the Capitol Market and WV American Water, the West Virginia office lies conveniently in reach of I-64 and downtown. Area Manager Ron Rucker and his team serve the Mountain State and the Tri-State Area since 2005 – formerly as Progressive Elevators and since 2015 as part of the DC Elevator Company.

As an AEMA and NAEC member, and past member of the ABC-ECC Board of Directors, Ron is serving on the 2017 AEMA Board of Directors. Marsha Rucker, DC Elevator’s Marketing Coordinator, has been a member of AEMA and ABC-ECC. Marsha co-chairs with Ron and has served on NAEC’s Accessibility and Residential Committee.
